Two students of Computer Science department, Muhammad Tayyab and Aleena Azeem, pitched their project “Waste Ledger” for the NICL, Cohort 11. After rigorous in-person and online interviews, they have been selected to join NICL Cohort 11 through which they will be provided with office space, technical training and other facilities to develop a fully marketable solution for their project. Their idea stems from the critical problem of waste management especially in urban areas, which will be dealt with a network of smart dustbins connected through a web interface to identify which bins are filled and need emptying while employing route planning to guide garbage trucks.
