COP in My City 2023 - FCCU University

On September 14, a significant event “COP in MY City 2023” happened in Forman Christian College (A Chartered University). This event is part of the Youth4Climate initiative of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Pakistan (MoCC&EC), in collaboration with UNDP, UNICEF, UN-Women, and Clean Green Pakistan. This event was organized by the Department of Environmental Sciences and EarthWatchClub society of FCCU.

This event was attended by a cohort of over 80 enthusiastic youth members aged between 18 to 24 years from different Punjab institutes. They presented their ideas followed by group discussions on climate resilience, decarbonization, and climate finance. Ten young members were shortlisted as winners of this event and will further participate in final competition in Islamabad.

The final winners will represent Pakistan at the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP 28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), to be held in Dubai, UAE from November 30^th – 12^th December 2023 as part of the youth delegation.

This international event will mark a significant milestone in the global effort to combat climate change. This event is going to bring delegates, policymakers, scientists, and activists from around the world converging to address the pressing challenges of our time.
