Ms. Mehwish Qayyum is a lecturer at Forman Christian College University in Lahore. She received her master's degree in drug discovery and design from the University of Surrey (UK) and her Pharm.D from the University of Lahore. As a Lecturer, she received 6 years of important experience conducting undergraduate discussion sections for both Pharmaceutical majors and non-majors. Ms. Mehwish Qayyum has worked as a Quality control analyst in the pharmaceutical sector in addition to her academic career. She has also won first place in healthcare entrepreneurship and a distinguished researcher award from ORIC in 2020 as an entrepreneurial Coach of a team of pharmacy students. Ms. Qayyum isolated, purified, separated, and structurally characterised three natural metabolites from Pinus Sylvestris bark, one of which is patented as an antibacterial agent at the University of Surrey repository as part of a European Forest Spec funded study. She had also looked into the anti-diabetic and anti-gout properties of several natural sources. She has a number of works published in high-impact journals that are indexed in Scopus, Clarivate, and Web of Science. Ms. Qayyum is certified in Pharmacogenomics and UX designer from University of waterloo and Rochester institute of technology respectively.

Research Interests: Her major areas of competence in research are rational, natural and synthetic drug design discovery, advanced medicinal chemistry, phytochemistry, metabolomics, and natural product chemistry.
