Maheen Zia earned a Masters in Applied Linguistics (with a Gold Medal) from FAST-NUCES and specialized in CALL (Computer-Assisted Language Learning). 

Her areas of interest are sociolinguistics and digital humanities, more specifically computational and corpus linguistics.

She has previously taught communication skills at National College of Arts, FAST-NUCES and Punjab University also, She is a contributor to some of the country's leading English newspapers including Dawn and The News.
