Dr. Ahmed is HEC Approved Ph.D. Supervisor and has more than 15 years of teaching and research experience in various Pakistani Universities. Serving as Associate Professor in Forman Christian College (A Chartered University) since 2010 and served as Assistant Professor (2008-2010) and Lecturer (2005-2008) at Government College University, Faisalabad. He also worked as Consumer Banking Officer at Bank Alfalah Limited; Lecturer and Teaching Assistant at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad. Possesses academic career having distinctions and merit scholarships. Awarded National XIVth Star Award 2003 in the field of Education by South Asia Publications. During his professional career, he has traveled abroad several times to share his research with international scholars and to get training from them. Supervised theses of M.Sc. Economics and MPhil Applied Economics students. Published/presented articles in various international and national journals/conferences. Worked in various research projects funded by national and international agencies.

- Working as PI in the project funded by Higher Education Commission Pakistan on “crop waste management and sustainable agriculture” under Thematic Research Grant Program 2017-18.
- Working as Co-PI in the Project “determinants of counterfeit products: a case of cotton seed”, funded by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan under the National Research Program for Universities.
- Worked as Collaborative Scientists in the project “role of various characteristics in price determination of goat: implications for production and marketing decisions” funded by U.S.-Pakistan Centers for Advanced Studies in Agriculture and Food Security (USPCAS-AFS).
- Worked as Co-PI in the Project “economics of crop residue burning in rice-wheat cropping system of the Punjab, Pakistan” funded by South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE), Kathmandu, Nepal.
