BRIEF PROFILE:

Dr. Saadia Sumbal is Associate Professor of Modern South Asian Historyat the Forman Christian College (A CharteredUniversity)’s Department ofHistory, School of Social Sciences. She has an experience of 13 years inher respective field especially in Trajectories of Modern South AsianIslam. Her research interests include , social and cultural history ofreligion, identity, Sufism, Islamic Reformism in South Asia, Post-colonialPakistan, history, society, politics, religion and identity, social, political,religious and economic movements of marginalized/subaltern people forsocial change. Dr. Saadia Sumbal also has published book and researcharticles in national and international journals.

Social and Cultural History of Religion, Sufis, shrines, and mysticism, Islamic Reformism in Modern South Asia, Colonial and Post-Colonial Punjab,  Subaltern Studies,
