Department of Mass Communication in collaboration with the US Consulate arranged an informative session on Department of State Press Operations. Ms Rachel Hasan, Chairperson, Department of Mass Communication welcomed and introduced the esteemed guest US Counsel General Ms Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau to the students. Ms Trudeau spoke about the challenges of being a professional journalist and the risks it brings along with it. She talked about the extent of vigilance and attention every news item requires. Along with that, she discussed about how clarity and authenticity are the most essential traits of becoming a spokesperson. She also stressed on the relationship development between all the journalists, and the people they interact with for information, at every level. Ms Trudeau emphasized on maintaining credibility and doing thorough research before giving out any news. At the end of the discussion, the floor was open for questions. Acting Dean of Humanities, Dr Ghazala Irfan presented souvenirs to the respected guests.
