The University Counseling Center and the Armacost Psychological Society organized a motivational talk on anti-smoking, Put It Out, Before It Puts You Out by Ms Bilkis Hussain (MSc Health Psychology from the University of Nottingham, UK). Ms Bilkis has also been a student of BA Psychology at FCC. The session was highly interactive and students were encouraged to ask questions and put forward any queries or experiences that they may have regarding their smoking behavior. She talked in depth regarding the various threats that smoking poses to individuals’ health and discussed a wide variety of ways which may help people to feel motivated to quit smoking. She specifically suggested techniques which can be practiced to make the process of quitting smoking, easier and effective. The crowd was thoroughly engaged in the lecture and the discussions that followed. This was yet another step made by Counseling Center and APS to ensure that support and guidance is extended to the Formanites regarding a significant problem which is quite prevalent in the society.
