The Population Research Center (PRC) has proposed a certification program in Demography and Population Studies. The certification has been designed for undergraduate students, with a special focus on students in their freshmen or sophomore years effective from FALL’21. Students will be able to complete the certification in one academic year (FALL semester – SPRING semester). Students will be required to take a total of four selected courses (3 CH each) to complete the certification (total: 12 CH), one course from each of the participating departments (Economics, Geography, Statistics and Sociology). The courses were selected on the basis of their relevance to the overall theme of the certification program. Students will also be able to concurrently claim the CH earned in fulfillment of the requirements of their respective BS/BA degree programs. Students may claim these CHs as counting toward their major, minor or general elective courses. The certificates will be awarded to students upon completing all requirements.
