M Usman Farooq is a Lecturer at the Department of Political Science. He obtained his Master’s Degree in Democratic Governance and Civil Society (DRZ) as a DAAD scholar at the University of Osnabrueck, Germany, where he is currently pursuing his Ph.D. on “Governance and State Transformation of Pakistan in 21st Century Conditions”. Before joining FCCU, he worked as a researcher with various academic and policy studies institutes. His research experience includes positions at the Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC), the Center for Development Research (ZEF), the German Institute of Global and Area studies (GIGA), and the Institute for Social Sciences (ISS). Among his Areas of Focus are Democratic Governance, Civil Society, Political Economy, and Developmental State, International Relations, Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Social Movements & Social Mobilization.
