Served in the Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad and in the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR); joined FCC in 2005 as Professor of Physics; Chair of the Department in 2006 - 2013; Dean of Natural Sciences  2011 - 2017; also the Associate Vice Rector for Faculty Affairs.

Research interests: atomic and molecular physics, atomic spectroscopy, condensed matter physics
