The Department of Mass Communication and Forman Journalism Society (FJS) organized Intra-Departmental Media Fest on 19 May 2016. The event highlighted a handful of topics with more than 50 entries in different categories. FCCU’s Vice Rector, Dr Joseph Jones graced the event with his presence and encouraged the students to continue working hard to excel in their field. An overwhelming number of students were present in the hall and they kept applauding the work of their friends and fellow students. The honorable jury comprised Mass Communication Department Chairperson, Rachel Aruna Hassan, Anam Muzammil, Faiza Rafique and Forman Dramatic Society’s advisors. This Media Festival showcased 14 films and documentaries, 10 television and radio ads, newspaper and magazine ads and 25 magazines submitted by students of the department. The audience was entertained by dance performance of Marl’bros group and musical performance by Tanseer Zaidi of Forman Music Society and Ali Brothers. Zahra Ali Abbasi, Saud Javed Malik and Zain Tahir hosted the event and kept the audience engaged with their energetic chit chat. In the end, winners were presented shields by the Head of Department, Ms Rachel. Best Short Film Award was won by Nasoor by Ashbell Najam, Best Script Award was presented to Nasoor, Best Direction Award went to Dargor by Sazz and Hon Production, Michel by Umer Laghari won two awards for Best Sound and Editing, whereas Dargor won Best Trailer Award and Best Documentary Production Award was given to Media Ethics: A Tragic Death by Tamoor Afzal. In the acting categories, Best Actor Male Award was won by Saud Javed Malik for his role in Michel and Best Actor Female was Sara Fayyaz for her excellent performance in Dargor. The event was supervised by Lecturer of Mass Communication, Ms Faiza Rafique and Lecturer, Mr Saqib Saleem with assistance of FJS President, Ghummama Iftikhar.
