Career Services and Internships Office held a virtual session on “Personal Branding for visibility to the Future Employer” on June 1st, 2021. The guest speaker of our event was Mr. Umer Ghumman and the session moderator was Ms. Maryam Khalid (Assistant Professor Business Deptt.).

Mr. Umer Ghumman is currently serving as Principal Professional/Director – Head – Samsung Mobile Business(Pakistan & Afghanistan) with nearly 25 years of corporate experience in multinational matrix organizations (international & local assignments), encompassing multi-country coordination roles, Commercial (head), Strategic Planning & Implementation, Sales, Business Development, Customer Management, Brand Management, Corporate Communication, and CSR (Environment & Community development).

During the session, in his 25 years of service, we learned about various challenges which were dauntlessly dealt with hard work, honesty, and diligence. He was ranked as the highest graded leader in the middle east and was nominated for “Top Leaders of Samsung”.

Mr. Umer Ghumman talked about the concept of personal branding. He shared a few tips on how students can start working on personal branding. He also laid emphasis on the fact that understanding the way to talk to people to grow our network is of vital importance. Learning to rightly brand yourself can make you ten times more effective in any organization as we are the CEO of our own brand. We must embrace ourselves, love the brand, should be more focused on our branding and its strategies, strengthen our network and eventually it will reach greater heights.

Mr. Umer concluded the session on the note of adapting our methods, having perseverance, knowing our purpose and coming out with the right mindset.
