The Department of English organized a Memorial for Dr. Kamal ud Din and Ms. Ayesha Pervaiz on 2nd December 2021. The occasion was graced by FCCU Rector, Dr. Jonathon Addleton; Vice Rector for Academic Affairs; Dr. Douglas Trimble; Associate Vice Rector for Faculty Affairs, Dr. Sufian Aslam; Associate Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Gloria Calib; Professor Emeritus of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, Dr. Christi Munir and Professor and Dean of Humanities, Dr. Altaf Ullah Khan. The family of Dr. Kamal had been requested to join and share their grief. The members of English department also shared their heartfelt sentiments and expressed their grief.
In their address, the Rector and Vice Rector talked about the irreparable loss caused by the death of both the faculty members. The Dean and the Chairperson talked about the intellectual as well as the emotional void created due to this loss. Dr. Waseem Anwar’s poem titled “Trace” was recited and his video message about Dr. Kamal was played. Dr. Shahida Dilawar attended the Memorial to express her feelings in poetic form. The Memorial ended at presenting a bouquet to Mrs. Kamal and thanking her to allow the department of English to share their grief.
