The government of Punjab has appointed FCCU Assistant Professor of Economics Uzma Hanif as a member of Economic Cluster of Sustainable Development Goals.
This Cluster, constituted under the Mainstreaming, Acceleration and Policy Support (MAPS) for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), is being implemented jointly by Planning and Development Board of the Punjab government and the United Nations Development Program. Its overall objective is to guide the prioritization of SDGs and their targets; setting baselines and targets for SDGs indicators and alignment of provincial development process, policies and strategies with SDGs more cohesively and effectively.
Speaking about her appointment, Uzma Hanif said, “I believe that I can contribute positively for SDGs in Punjab from the platform of FCCU.” The Cluster comprises of the Director, PERI; Country Director, International Labor Organization; Representative, World Bank Pakistan; Representative, DFID, Pakistan; Representative, United Nations Industrial Development Organization; Chief, Development Policy Unit, United Nations Development Program; Director Research, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Its first meeting is scheduled to be held on February 28 at 2:00 pm.
