Road safety workshop for FCC students

Lahore’s City Traffic Police organized a 3-day workshop from 15-18 March at FC College to create awareness about traffic rules and road safety among students. On the final day of the workshop DIG Traffic Police, Muhammad Usman Khattak, an ex-Formanite, made an appearance and spoke about being a Formanite as well as the responsibilities we have as citizens. An important element of the workshop was that students were able to get Learner’s Driving Permits on the spot. The DIG said that although this campaign had first begun at Kinnaird College, he wanted to introduce the Learner’s Driving Permits component of it at FC College which he called his ‘home’. He advised, “Good infrastructure, good enforcement and a change in the attitude of the road users are the most important factors in conveying the message of self-discipline not only on roads but also in people’s lives.” Along with the DIG, the Vice Rector Dr C J Dubash and the Registrar Dr Hamid Saeed were also present. The DIG was presented with a souvenir by Dr Dubash. Dr  Hamid Saeed hailed the initiative and thanked the City Traffic Police team for conducting such a successful workshop. Dr Dubash concluded the ceremony by saying, “We can avoid many accidents by following these suggestions.”
