Those books are any day worth a king's ransom. To see them is to love them. Such a great treasure is that. Apart from it, no one who ever met him can ever forget him as his accent would keep you spellbound till the time he was there. Also his words and phrases used by him showed that he was indeed the greatest maker of English prose in the twentieth century. Sir Manohar Lal too held him in the highest esteem, and absolutely explicitly ordered the Govt. of Punjab to appoint him a lecturer although he never ever made any recommendation even for his son. Prof. Saraf was my teacher of English in Chandigarh. His command over English prose, poetry, phonetics, and literature was just incomparable. I had the good fortune of learning some secrets of English at his feet. My book on grammar contains many of those secrets, and it is dedicated to Prof. B.R.Saraf. The rest later. God bless F.C.
