FCC student wins best individual award at SAARC Simulation Exercise

A team of eight participants represented Forman Christian College at the second SAARC Simulation Exercise held in Karachi from 25 – 27 February. The SAARC Simulation Exercise — organized by the Department of International Relations, University of Karachi and Hanns Seidel Foundation — is a project intended to foster knowledge on SAARC countries. A total of 64 students from institutions from all over Pakistan represented the eight different member states of SAARC and deliberated on topics of negotiation that were real and virtual.

The performances of the participants were judged by Former Foreign Minister Shamshad Ahmed Khan and communication skills expert Syed Ali Jafferi on sound academic knowledge, interpersonal skills and convincing communication strategies. Not only did it prove to be an educative and worthwhile experience for the entire FCC team, but team member Zahra Iftikhar won the best individual award and was rewarded with the offer to participate at the International Summer School in Germany, and as a part of the preparation, German language training in Pakistan.
