Merit Scholarships

The following policy has been formulated for awarding Merit Scholarships to FCC students in the college (Intermediate) and university (Baccalaureate) programs for the year 2012-2013.

Intermediate
(Committee: Registrar and College Principal)

1.    The following merit scholarships are available:

  • 100% tuition fee waiver for Top position holders in the Matriculation exams in any board in Pakistan.
  • 75% tuition fee waiver for students obtaining 85% marks in their Matriculation.

2.   Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis, ie the first students who qualify with the criteria above AND take roll numbers.

3.    To continue to receive this scholarship, all beneficiaries must meet the following requirements throughout their period of study at FCC:

  • Minimum 75% attendance
  • 85% average on monthly tests

4.    There are 37 scholarships available. The breakdown is:

  • FSc: 30
  • FA: 7

The committee retains the power to adjust fewer in FSc and more in FA if they deem this is a more just distribution in a given year.

5.    Students obtaining 75% fee waiver can also apply for need-based financial aid.

Baccalaureate
(Committee: Registrar and Executive Vice Rector)

1.    Students can apply for 75% tuition fee waiver if they fulfill the following criteria in their category:

    a.  Intermediate students:

  • Obtain 85% marks or higher in the 1st year Intermediate exams
  • AND pass the FEAT
  • AND maintain a minimum of 85% aggregate marks after 2nd year exams

Students coming after the 2nd year results are announced or who did not have 85% in their 1st year but improve to 85% aggregate after the 2nd year result, will be eligible for the scholarships IF any are still available.

      b.  A Level students:

  • 3 or more AS in A Level exams in relevant subjects (ie A Level subjects for which FCC will give credit)
  • AND pass the FEAT

   c.  High School or International Baccalaureate graduates:

  • positive evaluation by the Committee based on the student’s GPA
  • AND pass the FEAT

2.    Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come-first-served basis, ie the first students who qualify with the criteria above AND take roll numbers.

3.    To continue to receive this scholarship, all beneficiaries must meet the following requirements throughout their period of study at FCC:

  • Minimum 2.0 GPA
  • Full time status

4.    There are 70 scholarships available. The breakdown is as follows:

  • 58 scholarships for BA (Hons)/BSc (Hons)
  • 6 scholarships for BSc (Hons) Business
  • 6 scholarships for BSc (Hons) Computing

5.    Students obtaining 75% fee waiver can also apply for need-based financial aid.
