The Department of Geography has the distinction of being the pioneer in the subject in this part of the Subcontinent, with glorious traditions going back more than 86 years.
Geography is a systematic discipline that studies the spatial and temporal interactions between people and their environment and explores the means to synthesize them for the benefit of society.
The Department’s mission is to groom students as contributing persons for humanity and as inspiring leaders in the nation-building process. It focuses on the student’s intellectual ability to take on the difficult challenges of today and the future.
Currently, the Department offers an Arts and a Science degree in Geography for Baccalaureate students.
The Department has an undergraduate society, the Dean Geographical Society which holds programs throughout the academic year.
The faculty of Geography have their offices in the Seemi Tajamal Building.
